Visiting the North Shore of Hokkaido

A few weeks ago we visited the North shore of Hokkaido to enjoy eating crab and soaking in some hot-springs. Before checking into our hotel we stopped in the town of Oumu to do some shopping.

After shopping we went up to the top of an observation tower and I took these pictures.

After checking into the hotel we went out for a walk to stretch our legs and help increase our appetite for the crab dinner. It was a short walk to the seaside.

Behold the Sea of Okhotsk

It's very calm out here on Cape Hinode

Surprisingly we have the Cape to ourselves.

I'm the King of the Cape!

And, she's the Queen!

The Queen just demoted me to the Joker!

It's so quiet out here.

The building in the distance is our hotel.

The long and winding road back to the hotel.

In  the distance is Sawaki fishing port.

The view from our hotel room.

Another view from a window in our hotel.

The next morning we checked out and a hotel bus took us to the Mombetsu airport. On our way to the airport the driver stopped at a roadside stand.

While everyone went inside to look around I went to the snow covered beach to take these pictures.

Maps are good. Bilingual maps are even better!

A few minutes from the airport the driver stopped at this convenience store so we could buy something to eat for lunch. The Mombetsu airport is so small there's no place to eat inside.

Last shot of the trip: The hotel shuttle bus.

Thanks for stopping by,
Mike

Bonus shots!
Pictures I took on December 31st, 2020 while walking around Yokohama.
