Bigger than a bread box - smaller than a small planet

It was a typical hot summer day's walk around Yokohama.  I was traveling light, just my Fuji X100F camera hanging around my neck. No plan, just snapping pictures as I walked around.

There are always a lot of nice looking people out on the streets in the 36 degree (centigrade) weather.

They seem to handle the heat better than I do.

She's keeping those harmful UV rays off her face.

The hot sun brings the family closer together.

Of course when one is young and in love one need not worry about the blazing hot sun.

As I walked out on Osanbashi pier I and the others out there were greeted by a wonderful ocean breeze.

From this side of the pier there is a nice view of the Minato Mirai skyline.

And, on the other side of the pier... there it was! The Pisces Leader (The SS Bigger-than-a-bread-box)! This ship is huge.

I guess this is how cars are shipped from one place to another.

The bow of the ship is about as blunt as the Stern of the ship.

Here's a view of the big bread box from Yamashita park.

Here's a view of Yamashita park. This place is normally packed with people but not today. I think the heat and humidity has something to do with that.

One last look back at the "SS Bread Box" before I move on to "China Town".

China Town is just around the corner from the historical Hotel New Grand https://www.hotel-newgrand.co.jp/english/ . I have featured this hotel on this blog before and I highly recommend people to visit it.

Here we are at the east entrance to China Town.  I consider this to be the main entrance.

Now here's a girl with heart shaped ear rings, a heart shaped pendant around her neck, and when she looks at this lucky guy even her eyes are heart shaped! Some guys have all the luck! (cue Rod Stewart)

Nothing heart shaped abut this guy.

For a minute I thought Alice the Goon was wondering the streets.

The sun is beating down so hard the shadows from the lanterns are practically being burned into the street.

That straw hat is not getting the job done.

Sisters? Maybe not.

Don't mess with this girl.

Could it be that this guy is a real pain in the neck?

A lot of couples out and about today.

Nice sun glasses.

Is that little Bo-peep in the background?

Hey! Another photographer.

The guy on the left looks a bit out of place here. I wonder if he works at a funeral home?

Moving on!

A tree grows in China Town; and there aren't very many of them.

Okay, maybe there are a few of them.

Heck, it's starting to look like it's a forest here... I guess I was wrong about the number of trees.

Nice lantern.

Four girls + two umbrellas + strong sunshine = team work.

Well, it's been fun in the sun but I've had enough for today This road leads to the train station and I'm heading home for a cold drink.

Thanks for stopping by!
