A Crisp Autumn Day

Nothing suits me better than a nice long walk on a crisp Autumn day. So, a couple weeks ago that's just what we did. It was the peak of the changing of the Fall leaves and Emi and I decided to enjoy it before it was gone.

We started out in Yokohama Park.

Many people were out with their cameras taking pictures.

It's only a short walk from the park to Nihon Odori and the Ginkgo nut trees are simply brilliant.

This is it! The atmosphere is almost indescribable.People walk up and down the avenue with smiles on their face while marveling at the beauty that only Mother Nature can create.

A nice carpet of yellow leaves to soften the sound of our foot steps.

Reluctantly we leave the wonder world of this golden promenade to have a picnic lunch out on Osan Bashi (Yokohama International Passenger Terminal).

The view of the city from Osan Bashi is never disappointing.

After lunch we strolled along  Yamashita Dori,

This is the street that runs parallel to Yamashita Park.

I take your picture...

And, you take mine! Yes, it's us.

Back to more interesting things, like, the sky is falling!

Yamashita Dori leads right into the Motomachi shopping street.

A brand name shoppers paradise.

Every picture tells a story.

Happiness is in the air.

Taxis are for the weak, we press on with our walk.

I always find the back streets far more interesting than the main streets.

And, this back street is leading us into the Yokohama Bashi covered shopping arcade.

You want it, they got it! We bought some baked sweet potatoes from this fellow.

Hot lunch box meals ready to go.

A butcher shop with beautiful cut flowers adorning his counter.

Grilled chicken - already cooked and ready to eat.

Like most of our walks we circle back to Hinodecho. The warmth of the afternoon is easing off and is being replaced with a bit of a chill.

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the train station of course!

Thanks for stopping by!
Mike
