Weekend in Tokyo

We spent the weekend in Tokyo and that's always a fun cultural experience for us.

After checking in to our hotel we soon hit the street and did a couple hours of walking around.

Next up we met with family and friends for a Latin Jazz concert.

My niece, Saki-chan was able to join us.

She must be having a good time!

The band was so good people started dancing in between the tables.

The percussion section was smoking hot!

Saki-chan's brother, Hide-chan was able to join us too!

A couple of guys near our table; this is the average age of the jazz lovers around here.

These singers were a big hit. They got everyone on their feet clapping and dancing to the music.

After the concert Emi and I caught a train back to our hotel.

A fellow train passenger.

The last stretch before we reach the hotel and get a good night's sleep.

Next day we went to the Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens.

Everything is prepared for the winter.

After the winter these straw sleeves will be removed and burned, effectively killing the insects that will burrow into them during the cold winter.

Plum blossoms are starting to bloom.

We were not the only people walking around the park.
I hope to return here in the spring when things are greener.

Thanks for stopping by!
Mike
