Misaki port town is located on the southern tip of Miura Peninsula. From the nearest bus stop by our house it was only a 55 minute trip to Misaki. Right away it's easy to see that this is a fishing port.
Everywhere on looks there are fish shops.
We needed to walk for awhile to improve our appetite for lunch.
There are fishing boats everywhere.
Weekend fishers line the waterfront. The bridge to Jogashima Island is in the background.
Passing by the main bus station in the center of town.
The side streets are lined with shops and restaurants.
After walking to the top of a hill we arrived at this temple.
And, not so far from the temple was this shrine.
Let's pray to the tuna God.
Toss in some coins.
Ring the bell.
And, say a prayer.
It's easy.
The purification station.
Time for lunch. Waiting for our number to be called.
Lunch has arrived!
Nothing better than a roasted tuna jawbone.
Deep fried prawns and squid.
Sashimi!
This guy's number was just called.
One of the staff.
After lunch we continued our walk.
What's up with all these Seahawks.
The guy in the lower left corner was tossing out food scraps and taking their picture when the swooped in to get the food.
Well, it's time to go home. One last shot while we wait for the bus.
Thanks for stopping by!
Mike
