Misasa Onsen is a beautiful little town in Tottori prefecture, Japan. We spent the night here and in the morning we went out for a walk around the town.
A bridge over the Mitoku River. The river runs through the middle of the town.
The Mitoku river.
This is the famous Kawara-buro public bath. It was used in the movie "Themae Romae".
A different view of Kawara-buro. This bath is in plain view of anyone crossing the bridge and it is usually full of people.
Emi's checking her town map as we explore the town.
The roads are narrow and interesting.
Hot spring water runs freely 24/7 in the center of town. It fills a foot bath that is open for all to enjoy.
A rice field on the edge of town.
Rice has been cropped and is hanging to dry.
A small shrine surrounded by large trees.
Emi pauses to pray.
After and enjoyable walk we returned to our hotel "Saiki Bekkan"
