Looking for Windsurfers

I thought it would be fun to go to Tsukuihama beach today and take some pictures of the windsurfers. It's Sunday so I thought there would be a lot of people out windsurfing. Wrong!

There were only a few people at the beach.

This was the only person out on the water. So, I moved on to see what else I could take pictures of.

One guy was fishing.

Then I found two guys getting their fishing boat ready to go out fishing.

This could be interesting.

They shoved their boat down to the waters edge using some portable skids on the sand.

There was another guy taking pictures at the same time as I was.

They're getting ready for the last push to get the boat into the water.

And, off they go! Now what do I do?

Seagulls!

It's a good thing I had a 100-400mm zoom telephoto lens on my camera. These seagulls are very shy and if you get too close they fly away.

This one is cleared for takeoff!

As I get closer to Miura beach I see that there are still some daikon radish drying in the sun.

Well, well, well... this is a nice surprise.

A bunch of classic American cars driving down the beach road (route 134).

Some of the drivers waved at me when they saw I was taking their picture.

All the cars were in excellent condition.

Walking back toward Tsukuihama beach. Back pass the daikon radish.

Back at Tsukuihama and now there are a few more windsurfers out on the water.

One lonely windsurfer on the right side of the picture.

A nice big fat cloud hanging over them.

Last shot of the day: windsurfers with the Bōsō Peninsula behind them.

Thanks for stopping by!
Mike
