The Real People of Yokohama - 35mm f1.2 Nokton VM lens

The Voigtlander 35mm f1.2 Nokton II VM lens is made for taking fast portrait shots of people on the street. So, with my 35mm lens mounted on my Sony A7II camera I set off to take pictures of the real people of Yokohama!

I couldn't have been blessed with a better day for this self-assigned assignment.

Family love always puts a smile on my face.

Mr. Hoodie with his cool shades out on Osanbashi pier.

The girls are back in town!

Call it tan, call it khaki, call it a popular color this time of year.

The face of the future. What will this young lady grow up to be?

The black leather jacket gives her an edgy "don't-mess-with-me" look.

This really is the face of our future. In 30 years she could be leading the country.

Pigtails, lipstick, what's next cigarettes?

March is the time of year when we're caught between winter and spring. Bundle up to much and one overheats; not enough and one freezes. What's a girl to do?

A visit to the Yokohama Bashi shopping street brings us into close contact with the faces of a lifetime of experience.

A life of hard work, raising family, cooking, cleaning; a tough life makes a tough woman. Don't mess with a tough women.

A man that knows how to behave around tough women.

More of that khaki color - she wears it well.

Who is that behind the Foster Grants?

It's all in the eyes.

Going for a walk in Yamashita Park. It won't belong before the trees will be covered in green.

Portraits in China Town.

Some people look good in a beret hat. She does, I don't.

The boys are back in town!

Happiness is a sunny day out walking and talking with ones buddies.

Some people prefer to be alone with their thoughts.

Day walking in dreamsville.

You're looking good girl, like I knew that you could!

Clutching the smart phone - never know when the call will come.

You come on like a dream, peaches and cream
Lips like strawberry wine
You're sixteen sixty, you're beautiful and you're mine
--Robert and Richard Sherman (minor edit by me)

And, they call it puppy love.

Smile for the camera!

Another smile for the camera!

Fast and dangerous times for Secret Agent Orange 3.

First I noticed her sunglasses, then I noticed his coat. Did he borrow the coat from his mother? Just a passing thought.

One thing is for sure, he didn't borrow the coat from her.

I feel a yawn coming on.

Khaki coat [check], bright future [check]. She's ready for anything that comes her way.

Last shot of the day: happiness is being happy together.

Thanks for stopping by!
Mike
