I'm not a windsurfer, however, I do like to take pictures of windsurfers and the best day of the week for that is Sunday. Not so far from where I live is Tsukuihama beach and it's a famous windsurfing spot here on Miura peninsula.
Sunday #1: May 22, 2022
There are windsurfing schools at Tsukuihama beach. Students are being taught how to set-up their windsurfer. Quite a few of the students are young women.
I brought my Sigma 100-400mm zoom lens so I could get pictures like this.
There are several different styles of windsurfers.
Everybody is having fun!
Very colorful.
I thought she was a student. I was wrong. Later I saw her jump on her windsurfer and take off like a pro.
It's a beautiful day for this activity.
Like I said, very colorful.
Windsurfing buddies.
Some people go out and stay out for hours.
Another style of windsurfing.
A little further down the way is Miura beach. Horseback riding is one of the activities available there.
Last shot of this Sunday: A cold drink in one hand, a camera in the other, it's a beautiful day to be at the beach.
Sunday #2: May 29, 2022
Beach patrol dog.
Windsurfing makes people happy.
Getting things ready for a day of surfing.
What a feeling of freedom.
All you need is a little wind and off you go.
That's the Boso peninsula in the distant background.
She's trying to get her sail out of the water.
Not everyone is interested in windsurfing.
Some people like to race.
Another student getting ready to head out.
Getting the sail up.
Fun in the Sun.
Later in the day and blond boy is back on dry land.
This young lady spent most of the day just trying to stay up on the board. It would take her forever to get on the board and pull the sail up only to flop over in the water. She never gave up and finally she managed to stay upright for a few minutes before falling down.
Last shot of the second Sunday: A group shot!
Thanks for stopping by!
Mike
Bonus shots!
