I sure take a lot of pictures!

I get up in the morning and if it's a nice day I go out with my camera and take pictures. Sometimes I have a plan, quite often I don't. Since I don't have a car I travel light, just a backpack to carry my gear, a train/bus pass and a pocket full of with some money in it.

These are some pictures I took last week while walking around Yokohama and Yokosuka.

Oh, I do so enjoy visiting the Harbor View Park in Yokohama.

This park is very clean, there's no spray paint graffiti anywhere, nice public rest rooms, benches for sitting and eating lunch, beautiful flower gardens, heck, people dress up nice to visit this park!

A guy in the park with an old twin lens reflex camera.

A flower in one of the flower gardens.

Not far from the park is a cemetery. It's a nice cemetery if one is into cemeteries.

I prefer spending my time amongst the living. The streets of Motomachi are full of masked people.

Wearing a mask is how we roll here in Japan.

With over 70% of the people vaccinated more people are out and about.

Making the best of things, trying to live life to the fullest but also being precautious.

Passing through Yokohama Park in the afternoon.

There's a chicken shop in Yoshida-cho named Umeya Chicken - it's quite famous. Well, on the backside of the shop (facing an alley) they just opened up a restaurant.

I plan to try it the next time Emi and I are in the area at lunch time. I love the sign "Enjoy Your Own Chicken Burrito". I guess as opposed to enjoying someone else's.

A real cool cat and his girl on a motorcycle.

Time to take the train home. The platform attendant announces that the train is coming.

And, here it is!

Walking up the hill to my house. I always pass by this old well with a water pump.

I'm greeted by a sleepy stray cat that I call John Cougar Mellen-Cat.

Another day and the wind is howling! So, I went down to the Yokosuka waterfront to enjoy getting covered with salt spray.

It's kind of miserable and wonderful at the same time.

The wind is so strong I'm using a tripod to keep the camera steady.

The view of Yokosuka from up on the hilltop at Hashirimizu. The white lump on the horizon is Mt. Fuji.

The Kannonzaki beach park is wild - no swimming today.

Only fools with cameras are here today.

A last look back before I catch a bus back home.

Another day and the autumn roses are blooming in the English Rose garden in Yokohama.

Lots of flowers are blooming.

Flowers are fun.

People are fun too!

A man and a woman in Chinatown.

It looks like John Cougar Mellen-Cat snuck into the photo line-up!

Back to the English garden and I'm not the only photographer here.

Man's best friend in Motomachi. Good doggie.

It seems like I spend a lot of time on train platforms.

Last shot of the day: It's John Cougar's afternoon siesta time.

Thanks for stopping by!
Mike
