It happens every year! The cherry trees along Yokohama's Ookagawa river bloom and everyone comes to marvel at the wonder of it all.
The branches reach over the fence and try to touch the river.
Another photographer enjoying the day. She's using a Pentax film camera.
The best way to enjoy the cherry blossoms is to see them from the river.
Boats run up and down the river all day.
I think these sightseeing boats charge about $10.00 per person.
Some boats are nicer than others.
As for me, I'll just stroll along the promenade.
Everyone is taking pictures.
The Grand Bleu is making it's return run.
There's magic in the air.
There are several bridges crossing the Ookagawa river and each one is different.
Some areas on the promenade the tress are on the opposite side of the sidewalk and the form a tunnel of pink cherry blossoms.
Some times the petals fall like a gentle rain.
Another tunnel.
Masked up and enjoying the day.
A happy family.
Here they come!
It's a cheap date.
Little red riding hoodie.
The bow of the boat has the best view.
Another load of spectators.
After spending over an hour walking along the river I decided to walk over to Yokohama Park.
I strayed over here for a few moments to get a cup of coffee than went back to the park.
This is the opposite of putting your best foot forward.
The tulips are still blooming.
Last shot of the day: A last look back as I leave the park.
The times may be tough but there's nothing like viewing cherry blossoms and tulips to help put a smile on a persons face.
Thanks for stopping by!
