The Sand Sculpture Museum in Tottori Prefecture, Japan

We recently visited the Sand Museum in Tottori Prefecture. It was unbelievable!
Official site: http://www.sand-museum.jp/en/

On display was the "Czechia & Slovakia" exhibition created by a team of 18 international sand sculptors. All images were taken by me with a small Fujifilm XF10 camera. Photography is authorized by the museum.

Check it out!

After leaving the museum we crossed the street and visited the famous Tottori sand dunes.

Note: Tottori is a coastal prefecture in southern Honshu, Japan's main island. To the east lie the Tottori Sand Dunes, the largest sand hills in Japan.

Here come the camels.

The last man in line has the most important job - he's the pooper scooper.

As you can see this is a tourist site.

Back to the dunes. It's hard to tell by this picture how vast this place is. But, in the center of this picture the little specks on top of the dune are people.

Thanks for stopping by!
Mike

Bonus shots!

The Adachi Museum of Art in Shimane Prefecture.
Photography inside the museum is prohibited. However, taking pictures of the Japanese garden outside the museum is authorized. I made the strange decision to photograph the garden in monochrome instead of color.  Hopefully you will enjoy these images.
