Destination - Iwate Prefecture! (part one)

Japan is encouraging people to travel and help out the domestic tourism industry. Tokyo is not included in this campaign because it has too many new virus cases.  Anyway, Emi and I traveled to Iwate prefecture for 4 days of hot springs and nature walks at a nice mountainside hotel. It was great!

Day one - Arrive at the hotel.

This place is pretty nice.

Day 2: Visit Toshichi Onsen.
Their official website in English: https://www.toshichi.com/ENG/index.html

The entrance to the outdoor "mixed sex/coed" hot springs.

Here we go!

Men's changing room on the left, woman's on the right... yeah, in the middle they are what you think they are.

The changing room. Baskets for your cloths and straw hats to protect you from the strong sunshine.

The view from the changing room window.

One of our fellow bathers heading for the baths.

After awhile I was cooked and left the baths to walk around  a little bit.

This bath is attached to the end of the Inn.

Walking up the road I can see that Emi is still enjoy the bathing experience.

Walking back down the hill.

Emi is still at it.

I yelled down to her that I was hungry and wanted to eat lunch.

So, she reluctantly leaves the hot-springs to join me for lunch.

The been-there-done-that pictures.

Inside the dining room.

Time to take the hour long bus ride back to our hotel. The bus stop.

Here comes the bus!

We had to wait for a lot of people to get off the bus before we could get on.

Part 2 of the Iwate trip coming soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
