Hikawamaru

Last Sunday we toured the Hikawamaru. It's a grand old luxury liner that was launched around 1930. Now it's permanently moored at Yamashita Park in Yokohama. Take a look at the wonderful world of ocean going travel when it was done in style.

Iseyama Shrine, Noge Yokohama

I read about Iseyama Shrine in a Yokohama History book, so, I decided to visit.

Say goodbye to last year.

Say hello to the year of the snake.

A shrine maiden waits to greet visitors.

The morning sun was quite bright.

I never met a shrine maiden that I didn't like.

After I left the shrine I went to the dockside to listen to a free concert. This guy was very talented.

It was a beautiful winter day to be out and about.

Nogeyama Zoo

Well, here it is, the not so world famous Nogeyama Zoo! This Zoo is located on a hill near Hinodecho train station (Yokohama). Last Sunday Emi and I visited the Zoo and for me, the high light of our visit was seeing the children in the petting zoo; so that's what I'm going to share with everyone today.

She's building up the courage to move in and start petting.

No fear here.

It's hard to tell, but she's cradling a small chick in her hands.

This little guy was having fun watching the Penguins.

I don't think these fellows were impressed with us at all .

And, that was our day at the zoo!
