Noge Street Festival, Part 2!

So, I went back for more on Sunday and had a blast!

A modern day samurai complete with head mic.

Hey, the cone heads have arrived.

Say what!

The acrobat from yesterday was back today. There was such a big crowd that these kids were sitting on their fathers shoulders to see.

I don't think she likes me taking her picture.

At noon I headed over to Isezakicho shopping street to have some lunch.

It's a good day for shopping.

Stopped for a self portrait as I was heading over to the Yokohama stadium. I wanted to check out the status of the tulips.

They're still hanging in, although many petals are starting to fall off.

It's a good day for old friends to get together for a little chit-chat.

These tulips are still looking good.

Hey, no trespassing!

That means you too!

Young lovers enjoying the day

Man, there are a lot of people out enjoying the day.

Back at the Noge Street Fest and just in time to see the dancers again.

Line up and flaunt your stuff.

The dancers are very popular.

The big finish!
My last shot of the festival as I head home. I'm glad they do this every year, it's such great fun.

Thanks for stopping by,
Mike

The Noge Street Festival

I went to the Noge Street Festival today (Noge is in Yokohama city). It's a great way to kick off Golden Week.

What's everyone looking at?

Oh, it's the Chinese acrobat doing hand stands on a stack of chairs.

Very nice.

Now lets put it into perspective. This girl is awesome!

The chairs are not solidly connected to each other, they're just stacked one on another.

Her manager told the crowd that if there had been any wind today she wouldn't have been able to stack the chairs so high.

It's hula-hoop girl!

The portable shrine girl clown.

The streets were lined with people cooking and selling food.

This girl was selling High Balls, I'll take two!

Corn on the cob and squid, goes together like... hmmm.

Grilled mushrooms, yummy!

These two girls were selling draft beer.

Everyone is happy today.

Even Carrot Top showed up.

More grilled fish, get it while it's hot.

Dancing girls! It wouldn't be a street festival without belly dancers.

I think she just winked at me.

This guy has the right idea - get drunk, it's a party!

This clown was making animals out of balloons for children.

Cocktails!

Party crasher - looks like trouble.

Donations are always welcome

Another pretty face in the crowd. That's the party crasher behind her, he's on stilts.
That was my cue to go home for the day.

The Noge Street Festival will continue tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be there!

Thanks for stopping by!
